I used Globe Duo Korea to call my Dad because he is a Globe postpaid subscriber (like me). This is a short review about Globe Duo Korea.
So, you finally made the choice to switch from prepaid to postpaid. But the big question is, is it worth the “upgrade”? This blog post enumerates all the cons of having a Smart postpaid subscription.
Smart’s postpaid services will be compared with the competitor Globe Telecom and another network outside the Philippines which I am subscribed to–Olleh KT.

After spending almost USD20 of calling the Smart hotline to know the information and sending a lot of e-mail to Smart’s Customer Email Support Group, I asked my mom to process the activation of Smart’s roaming service for Smart Freedom subscribers.

Part 3 of 3 8 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Get a Globe Postpaid Plan
This post is a blog post that prospective customers of Smart and Globe can use before they decide to subscribe to the postpaid services of the network of their choice. The list contains the things that the agents might not tell you and that you should know.
This post is a continuation of my previous post.
After the two year contract, there are two options that Globe will give you. It’s either you can get a discount in getting a new cellphone or get bill rebates. I decided to get a bill rebate. Note that you have to call Globe’s Customer Service Hotline (211) or Globe Postpaid Loyalty Hotline (+63-2-7301300) if you decide to renew your contract.
Renewing your contract means being not able to disconnect your Globe postpaid account with them in the next 24 months. Previously, if you decide to get a bill rebate, you are not bound to the pretermination charges. After the system upgrade back in March 2013, they changed the policy.
BILL REBATE
The bill rebate amounts to 40% of your cellphone bill. Since I still have Globe postpaid plan 299, I was able to get almost 47.5% off my cellphone bill. I only have to pay PHP 157 every month! It’s not bad because I decided to keep my number while I am here in Korea, pursuing my master’s degree.
HANDSET DISCOUNT
Unfortunately, I have no information on how much discount Globe gives if you decide to get a subsidized handset from them. The only thing for sure is that the handset from Globe, including the iPhone, is network-locked.

I am a bit happy and relieved when I got this explanation from one of the employees of KT. I am very thankful for his reply. His reply clarified information regarding the operation of KT stores offline and online.
